Grandparents Rights Bill In Iowa Is Still Overlooked!

Grandparents rights in Iowa passed the Senate on March 13, 2007 allowing grandparents the right to petition the court. Many grandparents drew a hardy sigh of relief after being denied their grandchildren possibly for years. State to state the the laws are different on the rights of grandparents. Divorce, single parent families, and hostilities between families can make it nearly impossible for a grandparent to see a grandchild. Unfortunately some parents have even learned to use their children as leverage against family members including grandparents. When vindictiveness and spite are used the grandparent is not the only one suffering from the separation. The child loses out on time spent with a a family member who has so much to give.
